My name is Niklas Hessman and I’m working as a Packaging Designer at Smurfit Kappa in Sweden, I do also take on graphic design projects on my free time. I graduated as a Packaging Designer in 2012 at Broby Grafiska College in Sunne, Sweden. This after 3 years with courses like structural design and graphic design.
I have in addition to my education also working experiences from both worlds. I have been on a 4 months long internship at This Way Up, a design bureau in Stockholm. Got the role as a Graphic Designer.
Also got 3 months at Smurfit Kappa Sweden, a world leading packaging manufacturer. Working both as structural designer and graphic designer.
My first internship, also 3 months, was spent at MEC-Gruppen. This is a retailer of custom made promotion products selling business to business. Here I was working with Design Concepts and Advertising as a Graphic Designer.
During both my internships and education I learned to manage more than the basics regarding graphic design, prepress, photo editing/retouch, photography and not to forget a pro at developing structural designs of corrugated board and cardboard.
When it comes to working with projects I love to spend time innovating and come up with new fresh ideas. Then also combine those with fresh graphic designs, together it becomes the perfect match with an Aha-feeling. It’s my big interest for both design and technology that make me wanna create amazing things, not least aiming right on the bulls-eye of the target group.
Softwares I manage is: Adobe CS5′s Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. Artios CAD from ESKO.
Starting April 2012 to January 2014 I was employed as Structural Designer and Seller at Pronord in Halmstad, Sweden.
In april 2014 I got back to Smurfit Kappa and have been working here since.
